The Dean's Office manages the Faculty and its academic self-administration. It represents the Faculty N and its departments internally and externally. The Dean's Office deals with all matters concerning the Faculty. This includes, for example, the preparation of structural and development plans as well as economic plans, the decision on the use of funds of the Faculty, proposals on functional titles of professorships and evaluation matters. The Dean's Office is supported by the Faculty Management Team in carrying out its responsibilities.
The Dean's Office is elected by the FR for a term of four years.
The FR is responsible for matters concerning research and teaching of the Faculty N. It advises on all matters of fundamental importance for the Faculty. It gives its consent to the structural and development plans of the Faculty, to the formation, modification and abolition of institutions of the Faculty, to study and examination regulations of the Faculty, to appointment proposals and co-optations.
The PromA decides on the acceptance as a doctoral candidate (acceptance for the doctoral procedure) as well as the opening of the doctoral procedure (admission to the doctoral examination). It appoints the reviewers.
The PromA ensures that the provisions of the doctoral regulations are complied with and that the doctoral process is carried out properly. Doctoral candidates can address all questions related to the doctoral procedure to the chairperson of the committee.
The HabilA decides on the admission to habilitation and the recognition of the achievements after the submission of an application for habilitation and a habilitation thesis.
The tasks of the StuKo include, in particular, developing recommendations for the further development of subjects and forms of study as well as for the use of funds earmarked for study and teaching, and participating in the evaluation of teaching in accordance with the inclusion of student event criticism.
The Stuko is appointed by the FR. The Stuko usually consists of the Dean of Studies, professors, academic staff, subject coordinators and program coordinators as well as students.
The examination board decides on the admission of students to the intermediate and final examinations, as well as on the recognition of certificates of achievement. It has the task of ensuring that all examinations in a degree program are conducted in accordance with the examination regulations and decides on questions or problems relating to examination law.
The admission committees are responsible for the admission procedures of a study program. They decide on questions concerning this and the admission regulations.
The Joint Commission advises on cross-faculty issues. It also elects the examination board and appoints the respective study commission. The members of a Joint Commission come from all participating faculties and the student body.
